I apologize for the ever growing length of time between updates. Angelie's been keeping me really busy! She climbs everything, and is into everything, and she can't be left alone in a room anymore. She's investigated our fireplace and come out looking like Cinderella's before pictures. We don't often use the fireplace and so she wasn't hurt, but we'd forgotten to clean the coals and ashes out last time we did use it (sometime before Angelie was born!) She's also figured out that she can push the chairs around to gain access to things on the counters. Here she's navigated the chair around the counter to the other side of the kitchen and climbed up to get an orange.

It's been a little more than a week since Angelie started sleeping on the floor on her crib mattress. On November 29th, at naptime, she climbed out of her crib. I had been downstairs on the phone with a friend and heard a loud thump followed by an even louder cry. Terrified I ran up the stairs to find Angelie wandering around in her room. She'd climbed out of her crib and fallen. I didn't find any bumps or bruises on her and she was happily playing before my heart stopped racing.

That night we took the crib down. She was so excited to be able to get in and out of her bed by herself, and thrilled to be given a pillow.

She's been pretty good about staying in bed and going to sleep, though of course she's pushed the limits a few times and had to chased back to bed. She's only just now starting to come out of her room by herself and usually sit on her bed and yells "Mama" when she wakes up. She has a small toddler bed at my Dad's which we'll pick up over the Christmas break.

Angelie also had her 18 month Doctor check-up last week. She remembered the doctor from our last visit (vaccination needles) and before we'd even left the waiting room and been put in the exam room she asked to go home. "Ho Ai-yi". When we were in the exam room, she cried when the doctor came in and wouldn't let her touch her. Angelie has her last vaccinations until she's four or five (not counting flu shots which we're going for on Tuesday), and weighed in at 22lbs and 31.5 inches tall.

Here are some pictures of Angelie at Grandma's work children's Christmas party.

Angelie really liked the Chocolate Santa she got at the party. "Angelie do you like chocolate?"

"Ya!" Angelie eats chocolate Santa

Angelie's been pretty cuddly this week, as Mommy has had three nights out and she was left home with Daddy. She's not generally a cuddly girl so I've been lapping it right up. She is affectionate though and doles out lots of hugs and kisses. Whenever I'm on the floor, usually on my hands and knees cleaning the mess under her highchair, she sneaks over, lifts my shirt and kisses my back. A much better trick than the head-butting stage she was in a few weeks ago. The bridge of my nose is no match for her hard little head!
