You don't realise how confusing the English language can be until you are trying to teach it to someone.

Angelie knows a lot of her animal names (and some of the sounds they make). While I read a story about animals today, she would toddle off and bring back one of her toy animals that corresponded to the animal on the page. Elephant? She brought her stuffed elephant that Uncle Grant gave her. Lion? She got the lion from her Noah's Ark. Bunny? She brought the bunny Great-Nana bought her... etc. When we came to the mole, she pointed to the mole on my arm! Not quite the same thing, but I'm amazed she remembered the name for those funny dark spots on Mommy's skin.
