Welcome to January 2010! We had a lovely Christmas and now we're back to our normal routine around here.
Angelie's school put on a lovely little Christmas concert and of course we all went to see it. The theme was "Christmas Around the World". Angelie's teacher sent out a questionnaire in November asking about our family heritage, and chose a nationality for each girl. Angelie's grandmother was enlisted to help make Angelie's costume - a national costume of Denmark. (Angelie certainly had enough to pick from). The Junior Kindergarten class sang a song in French "Ce soir c'est Noel".
Angelie is the one on the very right:
Angelie has been getting along much better with her classmate (the other girl with the 'strong personality') which we're glad to hear. There are also two new girls in the JK class as of January, bringing the class total to 10.
My dentist's office held a draw for a Christmas basket. Every patient who brought in an item for the Food Bank had their name entered in a draw. I won! Angelie was so thrilled when we went to pick it up. I had no idea how large the basket was and had trouble carrying it and pushing the stroller, but another patient helped me carry it out.

For the past few years we had done Christmas Eve at Ed's parents' house, Christmas Day with our friends the Hogans, and a trip to my Dad's whenever it was convenient for my sister to meet us there. But this year we decided to have Christmas at Dad's. We drove up on Christmas Eve and stayed for 3 1/2 days. Luckily Papa Bob knows Santa from when he was in Alert with the military, and so even though Angelie forgot to tell Santa at the mall that we would be at Papa's, he found us.
The four kids really like getting together. Angelie loves playing with her big cousins and Sarah was thrilled to have more people to read to her.
Christmas Eve: (They were allowed to open 1 present each, from Papa, in addition to their Christmas Eve pyjamas)

Christmas Morning:

We had another Christmas at Ed's parents' house when we came back:

And a third at the Hogan's.
Christmas is exhausting:

January brings us back to our regular routine. After we drive Angelie to school, Sarah and I run our errands or go on playdates, or rearrange the cupboards, or read a ton of stories....
