Our little girl is growing up so fast. She's becoming independent right before our eyes and needing us less and less.

She's learning to dress herself. She's done very well putting on her snow pants and winter boots by herself, and even manages her swimsuit--mostly:

(It's the Amazing Lobster-girl.)

She doesn't always ask for a snack when she's hungry but will help herself:
Angelie's snack. As you can see, she's learning to put things away when she's done with them.

She's even starting to want to help us around the house. She helps me vacuum (which consists of her being dragged around as she clings to the hose), and helps Daddy do the dishes.
Angelie does the dishes.

She's also getting to be quite creative. She plays make-believe and pretends to be a kitty, or a doggy, or whatever, and plays appropriately with her baby dolls. She likes the crafts we do at the drop-in playgroups we go to, and loves to draw.... with whatever is at hand:

Her language skills are improving. She's started using pronouns, calling her toys "her" or "him", referring to her and I as "you and me" -- though sometimes she calls herself "you" and me "me". But she's getting there. She has learned the word "mine" and shortly after that "share". And she's using plurals. Her vocabulary is growing at lightening speed. She must know, and use correctly, more than 500 words by now! It's amazing how quickly it comes.

She's also testing her limits and will deliberately misbehave (dump a dish of raisins on the floor, touch things she's not allowed to, spit food onto the carpet, etc.) to see what the consequences might be. And then when I discipline her --"that's not nice, that's dangerous, Mommy's angry, pick that up"-- she races over for a hug and a kiss to make sure it's alright.

Here she's got a flower that Daddy gave her (out of my Valentine's arrangement). Doesn't she look like a big girl?

On Friday I take her for her tests at the childrens' hospital to rule out any damage to her kidneys from the bladder infection she had a couple months ago. I will post again when we have the results back. (Though I'm sure everything is just fine or we would've seen symptoms by now.)

Wow, sounds like she'll be talking my ear off next time I get to see you two again :-)
It's amazing how quickly they grow up and all the things they learn.
