Angelie seems to be on the mend. Last night she played in her room for almost 2 hours after she was put to bed, and today she woke up perky and chatty and energetic and HUNGRY. Of course all this after seeing the doctor on Wed and having lab tests done yesterday. (We'll get those results back in a few days, but I'm pretty sure now that it was just a virus.) After she'd been sick for 4 days we called Telehealth (Ontario's free health help-line) and they said that for her age-group it was time to see a doctor if she was still sick. So we did. It's one of those things that makes me feel like a sterotypical over-reacting panicky first-time mom. There is also an over-reacting panicking first-time Dad in the house... we fire-up each other's worry.
I think Angelie is starting to feel a little house-bound having been stuck inside all week. It was pouring rain yesterday and she wanted to go outside. I said "not today, it's raining," and she replied "Umbrella on head". Smarty-pants. I didn't take her out, as she still wasn't herself, but tomorrow is supposed to be nice and we'll get out then when she's back to being 100%.
During her illness she decided that she didn't like sleeping with her door closed, even though we always left it ajar and she has a nightnight. So now it's left open-- unless she gets out of bed. If she gets out of bed, the door gets closed, tight. Most of the time it works and she stays in the bed. Didn't work last night though, and we had to close the door. She didn't complain much, just played happily and then when she was tired put herself to bed.

Glad to hear she's doing better. Sounds like you guys had your share of illnesses and bugs lately :-) And don't worry about being a panicky and over-reacting first time mum... you need to through this phase with the first kid so you can be a calm and collected second time mum. How else are you supposed to know what's a nuisance and what is really dangerous? :-)
Hugs, for the little one, too
